OK - The wifes 1.8 2002 3 Door...............

So we did get caught out in a Hail Storm that damaged the roof and bonnet but the insurance sorted that ..................

Cars just clocked 36K - Owned for nearly a year and the only two things I have noticed have been the 'standard' flashing Air-Bag sensor light on dash - though seems to have gone away for now - will just get round to pushing the wiring together. Also theres a metallic 'rattle' developed at full right hand lock - sounds like the steering arm/link may be catching on possibly a corroded and/or loose exhaust heat shield. Will get it checked on the impending service.

Other than that it drives superbly - have been totally delighted with it especially since we added 17" Claws - looks fab and we paid nothing for it.
Even been pleasantly suprised with the 1.8 economy. :slayer:

Mines has been burst diff gearbox and driveshafts seals and a cog in the diff has had a chunk taken out of it somehow. Not amused other than that it's minmal problems like brake pads and tyres. Within 20k miles oh and an exhaust

OK, I think I have tempted fate. Selespeed pump has failed today, left me in a rather nice situation at a set of main traffic lights in Bristol in the outside lane in peak rush hour traffic this morning. It put me in neutral and I was unable to find a gear. 2 very kind police officers halted traffic (I was very popular) and pushed me off the road. 10 minutes later was able to start up and select a gear and limp to work. Sorted my staff and took her to Simonstone, leaving her there for diagnostics. Was told they'd have trouble fitting her in as were v busy. Hour later received call stating pump and relay had failed at £530 + vat but covered under 3rd year warranty, bad news was that parts would have to be ordered and car wouldn't be sorted until tuesday earliest. Oh well, another 2 months and the bill would have been mine :D

Am gonna have rid of mines before the third year warranty is up. One way or another. Preferably i want rid as soon as i get it bak

Hi,

I had a 2004 1.6 dynamic, owned it for 1 1/2 years and it did not give me no major promblems an all. The only things was, the diver's side moulding came loose and was replaced under warranty. :D :) :D

Now i have an arbath, own for 6 mounths and i had to get the both rear lights changed as the chrome in the lights started to turn a browny colour. Fiat replaced this under the warranty, no questions asked :D :) :D

Edit: The alarm has developed a rather random habit of going off when driving, no apparent reason for it but it tends to get many suspicious looks from other road users, except on motorways, when other drivers think I'm some plainclothes plod on a mission and get out of my way PDQ, so now I want a button to trigger it when I want it (and some flashing blue LEDs in the grille) :)

My stilo is also beginning to have problems over the last week having engine management light coming on and going into a garage twice and not being fixed by them despite being charged a wad of money it went in last Fri and they said they had found the fault new No4 injector fitted and lo and behold the engine management light came on again this morning and its going into the garage again in the morning I am starting now to get angry

Not had a major fault with my Stilo, jammed door lock on passenger side and broke airvent when i bought the car other than that 100% mechanically reliable.

Just had its first MOT today, and 3rd service and sailed through although 2 advisories, 1 brake pads 4000 miles left... err not bad if they last 40,000 miles and work NSF drop link, but not enough to fail MOT.

Had mine for 6 months & had airbag light problem but otherwise faultless.

I previously owned a Citroen Xantia 1.9TD for 9 years from and apart from 1 ABS sensor never had any problems other than fair wear & tear. Some people would burn them on sight!

I think it's luck of the draw with cars whatever the make.

Had a punto for 6 years and no major problems. Car was a little belter just abit on the small side for 2 adults 2 kids and a dog

got a petrol 04 stilo MW now (should i have gone for the diesel) and it's perfect. Just hope it's as good a car as the punto was.:)

Picked mine up today with new selespeed pump and relay fitted. Covered under 3rd year, which means a 12 month warranty on parts. Took it out and it's a completely different drive. Problem was I returned to driving after having broken my legs and arms in a bike accident last October and couldn't remember it being any different when I returned to driving in July, now I remember :D Whoopee

PNL, my engine warning light is on permanently, I know it's from the lpg when the gas gets low the mixture weakens setting the light off, I've had it reset 4 times and given up. Even Fiat didn't reset it after fitting selespeed pump. As long as it's not flashing (drastic) it appears no one worries about it - in which case why have it :bang:

No real problems with my Stilo MW JDI 03 plate.. apart from...

1. Snapped front spring (replaced under warranty) and damaged tyre
2. Knackered wheel bearing (only 24k on the clock) And damaged tyre
3. Three instances of dry-joints...
4. Serioulsy unhelpful (but attractive) service girl in local dealership

Have written to Fiat Head office in Slough and have received a standar "We are looking into it" card in the post...

So if you are asking for people who have had no probelms with thier car.. I'm not one of them...:bang:
