Hi,
I have a Fist Stilo 03 1.6 16v active.
It is currently in the dealership awaiting a new clutch!
I have done 31,500 miles to date and was wondering my clutch squeeks and juddres in first gear - they advised me that the fly wheel needs changing (under warranty) and the clutch - i have to pay for the clutch £82?
Does anyone know if this is correct?

Hi

Are you in 3rd year warranty? If so, maybe they treat the clutch as a wear 'n' tear item!

However, the clutch judder seems to be a common problem on this forum.

Hi,
Thanks for the info!
I am in my 3rd year warranty!
It is a bit surprising that this issue hasn't been dealt with under warranty - considering the amout of clutch problems the stilo has had to date - surely this is a design fault and such should be covered under the warranty

Mines a 1.4 and suffers the similar trouble but im getting mine done under warrenty it goes in tomoz so i shouldnt see why there is a prob

What did they do on yours Bo?

Mine makes a knocking noise when you are in first and pull the pedal up to the biting point, and the pedal squeaks, but it seems ok apart from that.

i also get the same clicking / metallic noise when on and off the clutch in town. yours a jtd?

Just got my Stilo back from the garage all done for free (after much heated discussions with the warranty company) thanks everyone - at least i'm not the only one!

Car is fine and slightly faster (wierd)

Clicking is white plastic ball cup behind pedal, this breaks & clicks.
Judder in 3rd year is up to warranty company, not Fiat or dealer.
Squeak will go away with oil/WD40 but will return, use white grease.

so is this clicking wear or warrenty? im in the 3rd year

It's really up to warranty company but if car has had 1st & 2nd service I would reckon (hope) so,can only ask.Get them to quickly check/listen to it first as it should be obvious if it is this fault.

Mine squeeks / clicks especially on hot days but is solved every 6 months by a good spray of white grease...as above it does work!
