Technical stilo steering rack any advise

i have a jtd stilo and have got a rattering noise when going over bumps new link arms fitted, no play in any other parts atall

noise is comeing fron the n/s and i have fount there is play in the n/s of the steering rack. if you pull the rack boot back there is some up and down movement in the rack also if you rock the steering wheel back and forth there is the same sort of noise as when driveing over bumps ect. so i am thinking a new rack is in order

has any one changed a rack on a stilo if so how easy is the job

I can recall two forum people changing their own Stilo steering rack so if you do a search you may find them. I believe it's a straight forward job with no hidden nasties, just messy and time consuming
