General Stilo mk.II - yuk!

Hi

Ive just seen a new Stilo m.y.2004 (mark II). It was a 1.2 Active 5dr.

I must say that I'm glad i've got mine - the two-tone dash is poorly fitted and doesn't look as good as I had thought (although the lighter material on the door trims looked nice), the body-coloured inserts made the car look bland, and the rear lights are boring (compared to the mark I "crystal clear" lights).

It's new wheel trims, however, did smarten the side-profile up a bit. Even though it has coloured inserts, the mirrors and handles were black.

All in all, not too impressed, and I prefer the mark I. Now if my mk.I can get sorted, i'll be happy as larry!

I'm not keen on the new rear lights. Thats a mistake IMO.

well i love the look, but i would say that i'm getting one in march (hopefully)

I havent seen the MK II in personel, but watching the pictures, i can say that i like the rear lights at the 5 door version.i havent seen the dash and the interior but i adore the 140bhp diesel.

Sorry mate NO SUCH THING.

Entry level Stilo is now a 1.4 and it still has a 6 speed gearbox.

Series 2 Stilo looks a lot better IMO

Not a fan of the two tone interior myself.

Hi Guys & Girls... I'm new on this forum BUT have been reading the comments for a few weeks... good stuff


anyho onto why I'm finally posting, I got a call from my local dealer last week that they were geting the new Stilo MY04s in this week, but better than that a Stilo MY04 Abarth 2.4 manual!

well I went out in it earlier today and all I can say is I WANT ONE.... their are a few changes to what I have seen and read in the press and on the WWW ( Italiaspeed ) the new rally look front bumpers with mesh grills are not standard and the active matrix screen has also gone, even tho Fiats UK WWW says it is included, well when has Fiats WWW ever been right?

but one suprising thing was the inclusion of the climate control as standard, the seats are now a bit firmer and more comfy ( well to me ) and hug your sides better than the MKI, the ashtrays disapeared and in its place is one of those beaker type things that sits where the 2 can holders are in front of gear stick.. I actually like that idea.

having driven it for about 20mins it looks like Fiat have fixed the suspension noises plus it felt alot more stiffer than the MKI it held the road like glue in torrential rain and aslo the noise levels were alot quieter than my Stilo 1.8 even with the 2.4 adn 17" alloys all in all I like the manual Abarth.... OH and its goes like stink!


Just now need the dealer to come up with a good deal and get a delivery date on the car/specs I want.

I got my upto date (ish!) Stilo brochure yesterday, and it seems the manual Abarth is much less well equipped than the Selespeed, no satnav for instance.

Also the new 5 door Prestigo seems like a bit of a waste of time, basically an Abarth with all it sporting kit removed

The Active Sport seems to have benefited tho, it now has sideskirts and titanium dash inserts, making it a bit more of a 'sport' model

Some of the colour names have changed, broom yellow is now imola yellow, but I think its a little cheeky that tiziano red is now chargeable[:0]
