Technical Stilo Key Fob Question

Hi,

Tried using search function but not really found what I'm looking for.

When the key is flicked in the open position there is a switch (toggled by a flat head screwdriver) that alternates between a locked padlock symbol and open padlock symbol, just wondered what this switch does?

The "switch" you refer to is a screw that holds the battery cover on. Remove the cover when you need to replace the battery.
