Hello, what size of windscreen wipers does fiat recommend for the Stilo Hatchback for front? I have found many different numbers like for the front 550mm and 480mm but the second one doesn't fit. My stilo has 550mm and 450mm. Also I wanted to change my windscreen wipers which are the classic ones and put the Bosch more premium ones like the aerotwin, retrofit etc. What size should i put?

Hello,

I'd say it's strange, but the owners' handbook does not list the wipers length / type.

Between 450 and 480 mm there's 30 mm of length difference, so 15 mm per side (counting to the outside from the center of the wiper). You can mesure how much space there is left with the present wiper, from its end to the edge of the windscreen in both horizontal and vertical positions. Check if the two wipers don't (and won't) touch if you put a 460 mm one (there must be enough room to move).

It is also possible that a longer wiper won't clean the extra surface on the windscreen due to its curvature.

As for switching from classic wipers to the 'armless' type (like the aerotwin) the length should be the same. But it also can cause some problems, as the pressure is applied differently to the wiper on both types. For example on my 2003 daily car it didn't work, I had to come back to the original, classical shape.

In a local auto parts shop they told me that only the bosch aerotwin a531s are compatible with fiat stilo which are 530mm and 450mm (also they told that the armless are more flexible). But I found that there are also the bosch retrofit aerotwin(with the hook clips) ar22u(550mm) and ar19u(475mm) in this uk site. If you have the time check it. I'm in a dilemma about what to get because I want something "more premium". https://www.wiperblades.co.uk/vehicles/fiat-stilo-windscreen-wiper-blades

OMG, is it touching the side?
Yes, i noticed that yesterday. Before these, i had 440mm on passenger side, but everyone reccomends 550/480 for stilo so i bought 480.

Tonight was first rain and i got some annoing quiet tap noise when they are coming down from up somewhere on the middle. It freaks me out but i dont think thats from passanger wiper touching the end, because the noise is coming from the middle way…

So do you think it would be fine if I put the bosch aerotwin wipers which are 550mm and 475mm? Or to play safe and buy a size 450mm bosch aerotwin for passsenger as it has now(the car mechanic put the ones it has now, they are classic Valeo wipers 550 and 450)

I would go with 550/475. Also I think i can fix my touching blade tommorow by recalibrating/moving arm by 2-3mm up.
