General Used stilo issue

Hi I've just bought a 86k fiat stilo 2007 which is a good find and so far a good runner. Apart from not able to take my test just yet. I figured I would pick some of you guys brains about some issues.... First being that my rear wiper doesnt work.. Is this a fuse issue and if so any helpful links as to gaining knowledge on this.. Thanks!

Checking the fuses is a good starting point, also some have breaks in the wiring at the boot/tailgate hinge area.
Then as on many vehicles the motor may just be seized from lack of use

Be careful if the spindle is seized through lack of use.. The gears on the motor are nylon and can strip if the motor can't turn the spindle (metal rod inside a metal sleeve). I had a problem years ago with an Alfa 145.. just lack of use. Just take the arm off and then spray the spindle with WD40 or penetrating oil every day for a month... then try to move the arm by hand (gently, until it gets to a resistance) to see whether the rod is rotating inside the sleeve, or the whole sleeve/escutcheon is moving with it.
