Hi,
Noticed my reverse lights and sensor are not working, checked the fuse which seems OK. Has someone come across this problem, or know what is wrong and how to repair it. M.O.T is due soon.

Cheers..........

Thanks Roy,
put my mind at rest for now regarding the M.O.T........

Cheers.........

Hi,
Adding to my first post the reversing lights, sensors and rear wiper also not working when you put it in reverse with the front wipers on. If there was a fault on the system I would have thought a warning light would come on, on the dash and also the warning message, but I get no warning light or message. Roy's reply that the reverse switch is on the blink, I would have thought it would be picked up by the computer.

Any other idea's to what it could be, and also an approx repair cost.

Thanx...........

No, it simply doesn't realise that reverse has been selected, the switch is a push to make switch and it isn't being pushed far enough so computer believes "We are still gong forwards then. Nothing is wrong and everything is right with the world":)

Costs about £12 for new switch I believe unless you want to try grinding off that hex shoulder to make the switch go in further

No no. How does it know the switch is at fault if its not working?

Trust me, it'll be the switch most probably (y)

I have the same problem, and am a completely new to this stuff. Could you possibly post a picture? Is the switched accessed from underneath the car? or from inside? Thanks!
