General stilo behaving oddly

hi hope this makes sense, i have a 51 plate 2002 stilo 1.2, and it has been doing some odd things lately. i have had the airbag sensor problem for ages and the last few weeks other things have happened. every so often it says brake pads worn for about 1 minute tops and then goes off, and strangest of all today it took about 5 seconds to start, brought fuel level up, said fuel sensor failure, put fuel right down to bottom and restored it to normal level.

i darent take it to the fiat dealer till i know what is actually wrong with it, i have had it for 4 and a bit years and done 20000 miles in it (previous owners were fiat uk) and it has been pretty much ok until now, anyone got any ideas?

Probably the battery on its way out. Mine has started to give me EBD/ASR/ABS failure when starting from cold but disappears after a couple seconds and doesn't come back until I've left the car overnight.

thanks mate, sounds like a plan, i'm thinking of when the weather clears up round here (nw) then i am going to have everything done that annoys me, so touch up a few paint areas, full service, the under passenger seat airbag sensor thing and probably a new battery too, they are roughly £30-ish quid from a specialist place down the road and every so often they do £5 off with an ad from the local rag, the motor factor for all the other bits is literally 2 minutes walk and my dad will help me out (i always give the old man £20 for his time, and he fettles with it till it sounds angelic again- he has with all my cars)

my battery is the same one from when i bought the car in summer 04, and i certainly dont remember the dealer mentioning putting a new battery on (its the kind of thing he would do and not mention though, his cars are a very high standard) so it could date back to 02 when fiat registered it as a demo
