Technical Stilo 1.9jtd fuel line problem

Hi all, Iam a new poster to this forum, I have only last week bought a 06 stilo 1.9jtd only to develop major probs concerning the fuel line, the car will drive for about 3 miles then without warning just loose power then stop. with a loud gurgling sound coming from the tank. after about 30 min the car will start before cutting out again. I have taken it to the main dealer and when the car is running the computer shows all the readings as ok, however he did point out that someone had fitted a non return valve near the fuel filter.... now even the dealer is baffled .. any ideas?

Try changing your fuel cap for a temporary plastic one, that could tell you if the tank is becoming a vaccuum and if so the tank vent is the problem.
