Technical Stereo

I'm looking to get a new stereo fitted in to my 06 punto and was wondering if anyone knew if you can fit the new stereo up to the controls on the steering wheel and if so how?

On my aftermarket JVC headunit there is a stray cable that says "steering wheel
Controls" this needs to be spliced back into the look and off you go, I haven't got around to doing it yet , I think you can also buy adapters of the radio doesn't have this feature
