Technical 2005 Punto Stereo Help

Sorry if you guys see this question a lot, just a bit confused as many places say different things. Ive just bought a new stereo for my Punto (05) and am wondering how to connect it up to the ignition if I need to do anything special to hook it up, have never attempted anything like this before as is my first vehicle is anyone able to give me a quick run down on what i’d do after removing the stock one cheers
