Hi Folks
My b (1996) has one of the early style plasticky steering wheels, it's pretty nasty.
What I want to do is replace it with a black leather one, preferably a proper barchetta item so that I don't mess with airbag lights etc.

a. How easy is it to remove/re-fit.
b. Has anyone got one for sale?

not sure about where to get a new steering wheel and the implications but, you could have the current leathered up.

Its easy to change (y) A few screws on the back of the wheel let you remove the airbag. Once the airbag is off you can remove the wheel without any problems. Make sure you remove the + cable from your car battery first.
You can get a replacment leather wheel from ebay. A fiat coupe wheel is the same as the B.

Actually, it looks like two plugs - horn and airbag (yellow).

So the actual airbag is separate from the wheel?

Great advice, cheers. If anyone sees a wheel for sale, give me a shout. ;)

Fleabay is 'access denied' on this PC (n):D

When pulling off the steering when be careful, make sure you have fed the wiring for the horn and airbag through the wheel as when you pull it off can pull/pop open the Spider/Spule (as shown in Robots pic). this has a very long length of wire wound up in it and it can shoot out easily, it is very hard to put back together...... a replacement can cost you £60 on ebay and around £200 from Fiat UK
