General Starts but wont run...

Hi i got a Fiat uno Turbo, it starts up fine but as soon as i give it gas it dies, any ideas?

start the car with your foot slightly on the gas and then when its started take ur foot off the gas... then try.

sometimes my uno will die just after sdtart up or a near stall if you apply gas... i dont know why but having your foot slightly on the gas before and whilst you turn the key stops the prob for me.

humm hwat i did oncve when this happend was i let it start and then i put my foot hard on the accelerator and the engine was still only barly ticking over but after 30 secconds the engine surged with power and sounded like a bmw williams f24 formula one car ... ok im lieing

Hei.

Mine thinks it's still in Italy, and not in cold Norway, so it get's kind of shocked of the cold fuel and air gushing into its engine. When it dies out after 2 seconds I give it a quick pedal to the metal, and it goes smooth as in southern countries. This only occures when temp is around zero and below (celsius).

This propably won't solve your problem Kinjo, but as you see, there are several ways to omit problems like this. Maybe someone else has more specific info about the turbo'd engine. Best of luck.

Hey, they think it might be the "Fuel pump module"..

anyone know where i can find one?

and if they only come on the turbo model?

I think it's better to check fuel pressure, because your engine seems not to get it when thirsty!If you tell me which ECU type does your car have I'll give you the correct value for pressure!

I think it's better if you ask it to a garage...it's quite dangerous to play with gasoline...did you check your spark plugs and their cables??

Maaan, my mate has checked everything.. he said its gotta be electrics, its going to a garage soon just gotta find one thats cheaper than 40quid an hour [)]
