dropped ecu off then went to a couple of friends then met up with gary(spookycinq) after texting him to get his postcode and then sat nav tells me i have gone 20 miles too far past his village so turned round and went back then had to recover the 20 miles again and then the sat nav chose to take me down what i would describe as nothing more than a mud track thru fields which was interesting to say the least then had a nice thrash round some country lanes got the cinq filthy then i found the M1 again and caned it back home was only on the road for 8 hours now got to wash the cinq tomorrow at work instead of actually working and finish off making up my exhaust system
As much as i want to im not going out there tonight its too bloody cold and after being out in it all day im cold to the bone but on the up side the new omp lower strut brace arrived to replace my old knackered one and another little parcel from dan is arriving early next week
i got all the bits i needed for finishing the exhaust off just need to get underneath and make a little jigsaw which wont take long but again laying on really cold concrete when already frozen aint good so at the moment its just a waiting for a bit warmer weather
Tomorrow is D-Day just been outside freezing myself and now everything is in place now ready to fire it up ecu, code box and transponder all in place, wiring all rechecked and connected, fuel in the tank, battery just having a trickle top up charge overnight, dash clocks all back in,engine and gearbox oil done.
just got to rewrap all the wiring once its running and tidy it all out the way AGAIN
Then finish the exhaust off, finish connecting coolant hoses and bleed the system up,front bumper on and then put new rear shox on when they arrive and lower strut brace then off to work for MOT then down to the alignment centre for total suspension check their set up is far better than ours and only costs £50
There will obviously be silly little bits i will find and will have to do before it hits the road and im off work from 21st feb till 1st march so will be on the road 100% by then...................if all goes smoothly now :worship::worship::worship::worship:
WELL IT DOESNT START SAME AS BEFORE NO SPARK AND NO FUEL now seriously considering breaking it up as i have no clue as to what it can be and i havent got the time or patience to continue with it wiring is as it should be cps is fine fuel in tank etc etc something is seriously wrong somewhere
Exactly the same as the blue cinq not even getting fuel pump prime up!!!! but if i connect orange/blk wire to green/white i get the pump working permanently so i know the pump does work!!! i still think wiring is wrong somewhere!!
don't give up mate, i have felt like that because of wiring and given up. Have always regretted it - You need to get to the route of the problem or it'll haunt you forever lol
not sure but i have code light staying on no spark/pump prime and a thin grey/green from cinq d4 pin 19 which appears to goto the code box which punto wire does this connect to???? and also from cinq d4 pin 20 is a thickish orange/black has 12v going thru it where does this connect???
If the code light is staying on then nothing would work. I had reddy doing my ECU before, but it never worked and he refunded me the money. Other people did have success.
I'll speak to whitz see if he can send u his loom and wiring adaptor i made. As his car is running.
IF you can get another loom (don't cut the D4!!!!) i can make u an adaptor and try it on my car before i send it to you! Then we know the wiring is correct.
As ymcinq says, if the light is on...and assuming the right wire is linked to the led indicator, so it actually IS signalling a code fault, then nothing will happen.
I think I asked this two times already, will again What about hooking it to diagnostics?!!?! It really is much easier than replugging all the wires back and forth...
Aint been near it in a week now as totally fed up with it and its been a bit too cold and ive been busy with spookycinq and doing his 1.2 8v swap and a few other little bits
Whitz is sending me his d4 adapter from his running car so i can confirm if its a wiring problem or not and weather permitting i will give this a try on sunday
Also have bought a few more bits from dan and also another set of dash clocks WITH a code light and also one of the thermostat housings with all the temp take off points etc....99p :woot: and the thermostat works perfectly
