Ionio-Zante has been PM'ing me about it, he had problems with "Coolant Sensor Fault" appearing on his screen everytime he used it to stop. He said that he got that to go away buy using a relay to switch the engine's electrics on and off.

What that will cause of course is the ECU to reset when the car is not being used for more than 20 mins, and realy spikes might fry the ECU. Way beyond my wanted goals I'm afraid, I know how sensitive the Stilo is and am not willing to start rewiring primary systems at the risk of messing it up.

However, well done to IZ for getting his to work :).

Hi all - got a couple of questions - I've a start button kit with relay etc - I've 5 wires coming out of the ignition barrel - orange, red, brown, purple and blue - can I ask which two are the feed to the starter? And also they're not overly thick wires - are they just control wires to actuate a relay - if so, if i just splice into these two with my switch, will I replace the start function of the ignition barrel?
Many thanks in advance.

sorted this - 5 wires from ignition:
red +12v from battery
brown switched power to starter motor
orange switched power to ignition components
blue switched power to auxilliary system
purple switched power to comms

to fit start switch you need a 5 pin changeover relay, with +12v input via start switch from red wire (spliced), 0v earth to cigarette lighter earth, common input power (split blue wire from ignition switch) and non energised relay output of the blue wire, energised relay output spliced to the brown wire - then start switch will use auxilliary power from blue wire to power starter motor - if anyone's interested I can email you my circuit wiring.

Key is still able to be used as normal - or can use start switch, with ignition turned to MAR (not AVV) - hope that helps.:)
