Technical Spoke too soon??

Although I said everything was sorted, I might have jumped the gun.

The steering still doesn't seem right. Very light around straight ahead and seems to have a bit of play when stationary. Does this sound normal to anyone else? I'm not sure if it's a "feature" of electric power steering or a problem and would appreaciate feedback before I go in to see the dealer on Friday.

Also, the radio reception has reverted to being really kak again. Anyone else suffer from this, especially on local (non-BBC) radio??

Any advice - as always - greatly appreciated....

The "City" feature can make it feel incredibly light when stationery as its designed to make parking easier. As for it being light when driving straight ahead I'm not really sure, I only worry about the steering when I'm going round a corner.

On a side note though, sometimes when you've had problems with cars you start to look for faults. Its only natural, thats part of the reason I'm getting mine exchanged, I explained to the sales manager "for all they could say its fixed, I've lost all confidence in the car and would be constantly waiting for the next thing to go wrong" he had to agree.

Anyway let us know how you get on, maybe worth asking to go for drive in another, to see if you can notice any difference.

It's definately not the City mode that's causing this. I suspect that the steering has always been a bit off and that only now it's like it should be!! I spoke to a BMW technician down the pub yesterday and he says the steering on the new Mini is the same.

My dealer's checking it out tomorrow morning for me. I'll let you know....

Steering has been verified as OK - However, as I left the dealer I found the steering wheel now does not point straight ahead when the car is. Hmmm. Going to Spain tomorrow so can't be bothered to sort today. Will bother them when I am back from holiday.

BTW - Anyone in Herts/North London looking for a Brio book - Desira Hertford have a great big pile of them in service reception. Just turn up and help yourself...

Sorry to hear you still aint sorted, seems typical of most fiat dealers to make things worse rather than better! (I better be very careful who reads this, the garage my mam works for was fiat for many many years, and I've known the mechanics since I was a kid. Its now Peugeot [xx(] but they still do my servicing!)

WAHAY!!!

Just had the sales manager on the phone, he thinks they've found me another car. He's says its either the dark blue or the jet blue either way I dont mind as I like both colours.

Heres hoping its not been thrashed to within in an inch of its life. Maybe just maybe I'll get my second stilo in as many months [}]

Have you got your new car now Andy?

I've spoken to the dealer and the have apologised lots. Need to pop in tomorrow and they will put the steering wheel straight again. It's a shame as they've been really good up until now. Hopefully just a blip.....

Will bother them about the radio reception again too....
