Hi, I'm new here and know next to nothing about cars etc.. I've bought myself some new speakers to replace the front door speakers but I have no idea what I need to do to connect them. I've looked in the guides section and it helps up till I'm actually wiring the new speaker and tweeter in. The connection looks like this:

I understand that the prongs on the speaker connect to 2 of the things on the end of the wires, what I don't understand is what to do with those flat metal bits.. Any help appreciated, I know it looks stupid to some!

They're wired into the tweeter out of the box

They look like spade connectors, one male and one female. You can either buy the opposites to join them up but probably easier to chop them off and join with connector blocks.

Also what make and model speakers are they so I can take a look at their installation guide online?

The tweeter isn't wired to the main speaker but I just push the spade connector things onto the prongs on the main speaker, it's the flat bits that are left over at the end of the wire that I don't understand

I'll do that then pal, thanks a lot for your help I appreciate it!
