Hi everyone,

I had what I believe could be a brain wave this morning..?

I only got one key with my car, so:

would me buying a second hand bravo key from a bravo at a breakers yard, and getting that programmed by a remote key programmed be a lot cheaper than:

buying the key from fiat and having the whole process done by them?

I have the key code etc for my vehicle..

Thanks
Ash

You can get metal blanks off ebay easy enough and there are company's that will provide a cut metal part from a photo of a working key.
The hard part is usually getting the correct code. I also don't know if the transponder in the key is re-writeable or write once.

Sorry Ash can I ask how you got the code I thought FIAT were the only ones who could read it and don't usually tell the customer.

Matt, I did mean getting the blade cut by the local company as well, I'm no car thief. So I couldn't start a car with another cars key! :) haha

Anyone can have the code for their car if they want, it just isn't automatically supplied for security reasons.

Funny enough only yesterday got the codes for Sisters Stilo, £15 +VAT from my local dealer :D

I have 2 stickers in my owners manual folder and it gives me a 4 digit code, and it says "key code" , so I just assume it was the code for the key?

Nope, thats the radio I suspect. Key code and immobiliser codes are more than 4 digits.
