Technical Spanner symbol at 12000

The 100hp has just slipped over 12000 miles and the spanner symbol has joined the display.

1. Service has already been done (not by FIAT)

2. It disappears after so many miles - truth or fiction?

3. If fiction, I need the EPER thingy software plus USB lead right? Or do they do one for Android 4.1 now, for my Nexus 7?

My independent garage in Devon - very reliable and expert and up to date with software releases - has consistently failed to reset the service indicator on my 100HP. Fortunately they have a good relationship with the nearest Fiat-approved service provider - not a dealer - and they reset the indicator on the understanding that genuine Fiat bits have been used.

They forgot to reset it.

Nothing to worry about. It will stop showing after about 1k miles.

Mine came on too after my local Fiat dealer did a major (gold) service on it. Yeah they did forget to reset the service clock - idiots.

But I was too lazy to go over and have a go at them and make them to reset it. Plus I knew it will go away after awhile.
