Good good let me know. I'll be travelling with you two probably as a drive down do dover then through france etc doesn't appeal to me lol.

I've looked at Ferry cost for you Chris and it's about £170 return. I've done the Ferry from Thursday to get there on the Friday so we not rushing to get there on the Satuday with a guess at Ferry return the following weekend but that will depend on dates for Nurburgring.
I see the fiat coupe forum is also sorting out there trip to SpaItalia for next year.

sarah, hotel wise at the ring, looking at the "hotel an der nurburgring" that jason and i used in june, and he is using in sept. big place, good rooms, esp for the family, with some self catering facility too. and very close to the entrance at adenau.

is about £45 a person, but the rooms can hold up to 6, loads of parking and garages too, and a good bar with decent food for a post round round

I'll have a look. I think once all the dates are released we'll be booking this trip asap as family rooms are always in short supply. I think my bro is after coming to this in his uno turbo if he can get the time off work.

A tip for the ferry, book 2 singles instead of a return over a week or so, it should work out cheaper.

funny you should mention that......directly opp the hotel is a race shop that had a lot of brake stuff in the window......

although it might be cheaper to set it all up at home, and bring a spare set with you, we can always change it out there

Spoke to my brother last night and he up for this in either his uno turbo van or 2ltr tipo (if he can find a good one).
Glad dates are out for ring soon so i can sort out hotels and get this booked. Not easy finding rooms for 2 adults with 2 children

very early doors, i know, was something jason and i were mulling over a beer or 5 on the hotel verandah ringside.....and seemed like a good idea at the time

i will keep this updated as time goes on, the rough outline of the plan is this:

drive out to Belgium on a friday, spend the weekend among italian car loving petrol heads at the world famous Spa F1 circuit, i'm taking a wild guess that the 2010 event will be weekend of the 12th june....e-mailed the organisers and we could get our own stand on site, thousands of fiats, lancias, alfas innocentis and bikes.....oh and some dancing donkeys, mad cows and broken forks....if you must

sunday night, pack up, and burn across the border into Germany, and set up at eddies in Adenau, for a couple of days burning round the north circuit.

and then come back, channel tunnel both ways, because it's just better!

itinerary, dates, everything is to be confirmed at a much later date, i.e probably jan 2010, because that roughly when the ring dates for tourist drives are confirmed for the year. it might be that because of this do the ring first then spa on the way home, or vice verse.

regardless, "what's the point of this thread so far in advance?", i hear some say....well last time i must admit i left it a touch late, even though it's a short hop, it's still a trek, and there does need to be a little forethought.

so this thread is about intrest, and no, not the dreamers, the pikers or the bull****ters, you and i know who you are, because when it comes down to it, if there is enough solid intrest, and i do organise it, deposits will be wanted.

well consider this 500 miles to the ring, 500 back - what's your car like for drinking?
£20 a lap of the ring
whatever your mpg is, it's be 25% on the ring......
entry to the spa event, plus extras like going on the circuit
accomodation - at the ring eddies is £45 a night.....

5-6 days away
insurance, breakdown and recovery.....
beer
lots of beer

ok some news this week, 2010 ticket prices for the rng have been released:

4 laps 81euros
8 laps 156euros
15 laps 267euros
25 laps 415euros
year ticket 1185euros

so the serious addicts, a years ticket for unlimited laps, would be worth it after 52 laps, so that's jason sorted then

at the moment it looks like 18-20 june is covered by a race weekend, so that's friday to sunday, but looks clear for the week after, so far.
