Re: help engine problems

thanx for the replies ill take it to garage tomorrow and ill let u know what they say (y)

Re: help engine problems

well I am not from the uk,so I have no clue on prices over there.

but lifting the head, and fitting a new headgasket kit would be like 2 hours of work.
so that plus the cost of a headgasket kit, would be th minimum you should think off..

but.. if the starting and bumb/jump starting has done more damage the cost will be way higher..

My english lang knowlage is letting me down here, but the things underneith the pistons.. cranks..?? or what ever the word is.
They will break/bend if the force is high enough..
YOu can't compress water, but bumb/jump starting it will shure try to..with all kinds of damage as a result..

sorry can't make it any better for you..:(

Takeout your spark plugs see if the engine will turn over and eject the water if theres any in there and make a note where the H.T. leads were ie- this lead goes here and so on when they go back theyre in the right place (y)

good call.. forgot abouth that..

had this once with a ford transit diesel van..
they tent to rust on the airfilter wich is ontop of the engine.
And also in the path of the rain water running from the front window.

Try to start it.. just klick..
but a diesel has no spark plugs, and I had no tools with me (was on a holiday)
So I put it in 3th gear, and with some people we pushed it backwards.
That pushes the water the water out thru the intake valves.
Lucky me it was just a litle bit of water and after a few meters backwards I tryed to fire it up..
and it woke up.. with alot of white smoke..:slayer:
