If you scroll to the bottom of the main forum page, there is a new sub-block titled "My Social Groups".
This shows the 5 most recently updated groups you are a member of so you can quickly see if something new has happened. If you are a member of over 5 "hot groups" then it'll be a bit of an issue, but it's better than nothing
