I used to own a 197cup, Renault offer them for a great price, huge downfall of the car is that you are lucky to return 27mpg, drive it with authority you will see 16-17mpg. Really not good.
Dont fret Beany... reality is however you drive your economy wont be worse than pre-map but your performance is better, thats what pisses the petrolheads off IMO![]()
Hang on if you perform the same tuning on petrol engines you get the same effect. More performance when booting it and more economy when being 'economical'.
My average has gone up from 39-40mpg combined to 44.4ish.
Yes Chris but the boundary lines are wider for Diesel as its a more economical burn anyhow. My average has improved by 6 mpg town driving and 10 mpg on M/way @ steady 70 (Bradford to Telford) light traffic.
I wonder what the price difference in petrol and diesel makes to the difference in mpg between petrol and diesel? You guys hear we are in for another price hike!!
I hear the opposite... Price for Crude has dropped <$150 a barrel now so its going down. £1.04 for unleaded in my local shell down from 108.9 yesterday. Only reason for increase would be the £-$ exchange rate devalueing.
Your kiding right??? did you not see the news this morning! crude has hit an all time record high!
Then why's prices falling? must have been an overnight occurance!.
Then why's prices falling? must have been an overnight occurance!.
Edit: Nothing on BBC news got a link?.
Yeah it was, prices have been going down but overnight oil has hit a record high, watch the news or just wait a few days and see at the pump.
i thihnk i heard $175+ a barrel somewhere
It is overnight, 16$ a barrel increase, the biggest ever single price rise...Speculation again, speculation that the USA injecting billions of dollars into their economy will increase demand on crude reserves.... FFS....

Bring on he electric GP![]()
Glad you went to red-dot and loving the remap but i doubt they had there foot down in the range![]()
i think you should start a new thread.the hottest gps around on the forum. punto chris, foxy, beany and else.let us know who's car here can leave the abarth behind!!
I'd be very tempted besides the price...ott when you can get a Clio 197 cup for £12.5k new.
Think it's the French racer for me next....![]()
OMG Electrics.... what the Italians simply excell at.... NOT!![]()
I'm more than confident it would mince an abarth on the straights, but on a B road (where it matters) I think the abarth would be showing its true colours.
Normally I'd agree with you but after having driven one when you enable 'sports boost' the power delievery is very diesel like except it carrys on until 5000rpm (peak torque 230nm goes from 2800rpm all the way too 5200rpm) so pulls like a train very satisfying lol. It depends very much on gearing I think but it would be quite hard to pull away in the GPS i'd imagine.
Thats a hell of a lot in a petrol car!!![]()
Dude trust me this engine 'on sports boost mode' could pull teeth! :slayer:. It pull very hard from 2500rpmish all the way to redline (thus giving it an advantage over diesel) even if it is down on torque.
