I have a 2016 Fiat Ducato 130 (Ex Openreach) Multi-jet Professional van.
Every 100 mile or so the engine management light comes on with a code relating the dpf filter is blocked, I put this light out with my ,cheap obd reader the 100>150 mile the code comes back.

Here's the thing, I've been watch youtube and it seems the sensor in the wing mirror is at fault, however there is nothing on my dash relating to the ambient temperature at all, I know where it should be but nothing! Also there is just a hole where the sensor should be (no sensor).

The attached files show the dash and the spare connector.

Here's my question, should all Ducato, Boxer & Relays have ambient temperature sensors on all models.

I'm hoping this is why the van won't regenerate the dpf.

Truly grateful for any help

Here's my question, should all Ducato, Boxer & Relays have ambient temperature sensors on
The boxer and relay use the ambient sensor for regen with engines that use ad blu. The ducato does not it uses a different te mp sensor
There are a number of ambient temperature sensors on the Ducato
1 IAT in the MAF sensor
2 with MAP sensor (not exactly ambient but is use to check MAF )
both controlled by engine ecu
3 temp sensor in mirror
controlled by body ecu.
with the Adblue models there are even more temperature sensors( on the fiat they are in a separate Adblu module.)
The temp sensor in mirror has a significance in regeneration of adblu models definitely Peugeot Citroen models. Was this then inherited by the adblu fiats just using the pre existing adblu methodology?
Does it have significance in regeneration of X250 or earlier ? No it was an optional extra on the X250 (maybe x290) many with and without but have the DPF.
I suspect the IAT is used for the regen function, why? Because these are all important critical to the engine and are controlled by the engine ecu on the high speed can bus. The mirror sensor is controlled by the Body ECU on the lo speed canbus and is used by electronic climate control and the comformatic.
The information in the X290 Converters Manual implies that (at least for non Ad-Blu models, which it pre-dates) the external temperature sensor is a requirement only when the vehicle is fitted with Automatic Climate Control and/or the Comfortmatic gearbox. Some vehicles are provided as Chassis Cowls, without any mirrors (or doors ) and thus the converter must add a sensor elsewhere. Hence the questions wheres my Hymer A class temp sensor.
Thus the mirror sensor does have a significance but not to the extent of the Doom and Gloom merchants i've read elsewhere (i repeat elsewhere)
IS yours a euro 5 or euro 6.

So with the information I have given you Should the air temperature be present by my odometer?

With no temp sensor then there would be no display.
However the lack of sensor could be due to a replacement mirror without a sensor. Try buying a mirror and you will see the miriad of options and prices.

I think I might of over complicated the question

My ex bt van has no sensor in the wing mirror and the plug under the electric window button is spare (see photo).
There is no display by the odometer (see pic).

My van is not Adblue
And has no air conditioning

should all 2016 Ducato's have outside air temperature displayed next to the odometer?

Its a Ducato 35 Multi-jet, Variant CMMFB not sure what euro it is but I don't have to pay ULEZ charge according to TFL website.

OLder ducatos definitly had the temp sensor as an option. Yours has not got air conditioning this required a temp sensor so being without could still be as left factory. I cant be definative about your van having a temp sensor or not both may have been possible. Sorry about the verbose answer i just repeated a previous answer of mine

What fuel do you use deisel or Lpg petrol?

I've got a 2015/6 Ducato 130 without air con and is manual, this has the wing mirror sensor fitted for the dash display.
The sensors are about £10 on Ebay, why not get one and connect it to the sensor and see what happens?

It is also not available in my vehicle, i connected 10k NTC to the sensor socket and tried to display it with Multiecuscan software but I was not successful. I hope to find a solution here.
Did you check the bcm to display the temp its not in the ecm.

I used ELM327(bluetooth) with yellow adapter and connect to the BCM, so i changed the ''display external tempaturate on dash'' settings. After that, i did proxy alligtment, so when i open the menu on speedometer i see tempaturate= celcius or fahrenheit but temp. no showing on odometer :( sometimes i see ----
but when i stop the engine or start the engine it's goes off :(
