hi all, here goes just got offerd a 52 reg stilo 1.2 16v 79k for £300, bodywork n all is in good condition, just had head gasket done was skimmed also had waterpump replaced and timing belt, new clutch, but it's a non starter guy said the brain is fried?? and was quoted 350 from fiat to fix??, all electrics work but on dash it says loose connection and something failure asg ecr something like that.
any help would be greatfull cheers.

Can't argue with the price. If you're happy to do the work, snap it up.

At the other end of the spectrum, I'm now getting shot of my JTD. All the work I'd put into it didn't prepare me for it's MOT failure. While it didn't fail on anything major (rear brake pads worn, 1 exhaust mounting snapped, headlamp aim too low -and the aim adjusters seized- and excessive level of black smoke - sorted with Wynns Clean Burn), there were a few advisories (2 new tyres, part of the exhaust slightly deteriorated and o/s gaiter splite with damage to outer sillss), I'm not willing to put in the work sorting it. Besides, it seemed a good excuse to get something new.

Pick up my new car on 27th April. Just need to find a new home for Stilo now.....

...so is it anything exciting.

Sadly not. A Kia C'eed. It's a nice enough ride, I suppose and the 1.6 diesel is only £35 tax. However, exciting, it ain't.
Proof, if proof were needed, that you shouldn't take your other half with you when buying a car. Mind you could've been worse, she has a thing about Micras!

Nothing wrong with Micras!

I test drove a 160SR, they are like little skylines. Just had too many miles on it, otherwise I'd have bought it

Maybe it's just me, but I've never seen a Micra do more than 30mph, or is the new version so much better?

No micras are ugly and always will be lol. I dont care what engine they try to put in it will always be in my top 5 hated cars.
Some kid has a fairly new one round here with alloys, a shopping list and a fusion sub that you can here sounds like arse from the outside let alone the in. Absolutely god awful cars :yuck: And he thinks he's pimp.

Sorry rant over, now go buy that Stilo. An ECU can probably be done less than dealer price anyway. You wont be disappointed.

lol bought it this morning and with the help of the AA it is now in my drive, going to have a good look over it 2moz and hopefully wont find anything else wrong with it, are their any common faults i need too look out for?
