some cars come with and some without badges (was a favourite of fleet buyers to delete the badges to give favoured employees nicer cars, and minimise hassle) if a badge falls off you've not modified it, its fallen off.
its just a bit of trim which on many cars is par for the course, you are likely to have problems if you add something to a car but not taking away. standard parts are standard parts I woundn't bother to tell the insurance about changing the brake discs but i might phone-em and mention if i put alloys on, fiat standard alloys with locking wheel nuts
shouldn't cost any more on the insurance, after market wheels are a different matter and will most probably cost you more.
seriously I do not believe removing a badge or two in this case is going to be of any concern what so ever to most insurance companies, personally I wouldn't bother, however because everyone is so scare of litigation these days it seems almost obligatory to tell someone doing anything, to inform their insurance company.
the best idea is to read your policy document and that will generally cover everything you do or do not have to tell the company about, anything else its worth giving them a ring.
lets stop arguing about whether or not you need to inform your insurance co in every single thread and try and stick to the topic
No joy rider will think 'ooooh no badges that must me a fast car' its just not realistic there are already numerous mods on the OP's car to not warrant a removed badge making any difference to a would be car thief.
that said, always tell your insurance co kids mainly because i wouldn't want to be sued
