Hi everyone
Just joined and need your help already
Brava 1.4sx "P" 1997 C514 type transmission, need to do the clutch as release bearing has disintegrated and cash is limited, can anyone tell me how the inner driveshaft pots are secured in the transmission/diff as they don't seem to want to move or can i loosen the outer joints from the hubs and get enough movement to get to the clutch
Thanks in advance

Well...on the C514 on the Cinq Sporting, the gaiters secure the inboard driveshaft to the gearbox. It should be a metal clip - probably covered in loads of crap, and personally I just wrenched it off using brute force and a screwdriver....then replaced it with a cable tie, but its probablyt recommended to replace it with the correct Fiat part (~£2)

To move the outer CVJ, tahts gonna be a bastard, cos the hub nut needs to come off (say hello to 300Nm torque :D), then the hub carrier can be seperated from the lower susp strut mount, and the hub carrier should swivel away...

This is based on the Cinq mind, but Id be surprised if the Brava is much different...

(n) Forget just trying to get enough room. Take the box out as you will need a, full clutch kit fitting ( Spinner Plate/ Pressure Plate/Release Bearing). When removed also check wear the bearing slide up and down on, as this usually gets damaged, and then a new gearbox bell housing is needed (n)
