Hi all, the shifter cable is popping off at the gearbox end of the cable and was wondering is it a cable replacement only or are new bushes available?
I don't have an issue doing the job and the cables seem generally OK, but seems overkill if the bush is worn to replace the cables.
Not looking for a bodge as it's the daughters car. Panda 2009 1.1

cables as a complete set I think.

there's a rubber bung under the car that seals where they pass through the body shell that the ball joint ends will not pass through

you dont have to mark them or anything the gearbox end only fit one way as the ball joints are different sizes

I put a second hand post 2012 cable on mine. There was some work involved. you need the leaver, and the gearbox bracket. Even then the rubber grommet is different. You have to carefully cut it off swap over and glue back.. They are also Black instead of brown. Its feels nicer but its easer to fit the correct part which is a trivel job with the help of a set of ramps.

Thanks. Just thought its overkill to have to replace the cables for a worn bush. The modern world. Just need to get a set ordered and get it fixed now....

There repair clamps around for not much money prehaps they are worth a try
is there a part number for the ends ? or supplier.

fiat sell the complete cables individually which is a pain in itself

far simpler to get a second hand set I believe I payed £10 from a local breaker

There also several different manufactures. Mine were heat moulded onto the end

where as these bolt on, I think I have seen some hydraulically crimped
