Yeah FWD and caution will always beat someone who is either overconfident or in a RWD car.

On another forum I post on there were two young guys who'd only been driving since 2008 or so and neither of them had problems other than people tailgating them. Both driving small fwd cars of course.

Just worked all night in it. Me = hardcore

Would like to thank all those who have stayed home due to being 'snowed in' you kept the motorways clear

i been driveing about 6 months if that and the worst i done was stall it when i tried pulling of in second for the first time

Yup roads are dead its great. Not getting held up by people crawling about on clearish roads.

how many of those type of people have i seen tonight!!

45mph on a clear motorway a woman and an old bloke hours later - they should just rip their licenses up at the side of the road

Ive just been overtaking them then of course they start to flash you for wanting to go at a sensible speed.

All these idiots that stick to one lane on dual carrigeways or motorways are annoying aswell. Drive in the other lanes and they will stay clear.

No, if people drive through standing snow it will compact and turn to ice.

tried to start the MG got it going with jump leads then it started chugging and stalled :( wouldn't restart, and didn't want to jump it again, and seeing the bloke across the road struggling onto his drive decided trying to move dads car to get the MG out would be more trouble than the chance to do a few doughnuts and play about :(

No, if people carry on driving in the lane like usual then it will stay clear. If people let it get snowy then drive on it then yes it will get icey hence why you just keep driving as you would normally from when it starts to snow but no everyone moves across.

:bang: Hence why when it starts to snow you carry on driving before it has a chance to settle. Its the retards that stop driving in the lanes that cause problems.

I agree with that but once there is significant settled snow the lane is closed till it gets ploughed or it melts.

Well not much chance of driving round here. The main road in and out of the town I live in has been closed due to drifting snow. All schools are closed, as are day centres. The council has suspended waste services as well and are in hiring JCBs.

what i cant understand are the cars where the driver has made no effort whatsover to clear snow from the side and back windows, and only a square to the front! with a giant cappucino roof of snow!! are you mental? do you have x-ray vision? all lights still totally covered, and then doing dumb **** like trying to pull away from the lights in 1st with massive revs, yes mr bmw compact, i'm talking to you, sideways towards a truck wasn't so funny was it?

Really gets on my tits seeing people with all that snow on their roof. Flying off dangerously as they drive.

I think it's hilarious when following someone with loads of snow on their roof, particularly when you see the blind panic that hits them as they stop at light/junction etc and all that snow slides onto their windscreen.
