I am loving this snow! lol

Marea's can handbrake beautifully in Tescos cars parks! lol

Anyone else in Oxford?

Snow here, nothing major, but I manged to get to work earlier then normal

That's because all the wimps got scared and stayed at home! I came home from my night shift at 8.20am and unlike the normal morning rush hour I normally have to contend with the roads were nearly empty. And so many drivers clearly have NO idea of how to drive in snow. One lot drive like idiots (saw one clown in a ditch ) and the other lot drive around at 10 mph even on the roads that are well gritted and clear of snow :nutter:

It's not the snow that causes problems on the roads it's the incompetent drivers!

There's another lot of people too, the ones who complain that the roads aren't gritted enough. I was digging out the snow and ice to create some tarmac for people to drive on down our road yesterday and there was craploads of grit under the snow, the snow just fell on top, never melted and has compacted into ice now. If they'd gritted on top or while it was snowing it would have just made things even slippier!

Some people think that salt gritting is some sort of silver bullet against snow and ice. It damn well isn't and you either need to get winter tyres, drive very slowly on the snow and ice on your summer rubber or stay the **** at home.

Or get up early, turn traction control off and act out Finnish rally driver fantasies on fresh snow :)

When the wife gets back around 12 I'm going out for a drive in her Legacy on the ice around here.

I've got a dutch last name and the same car so I should be at least as good :p
