Server Move

Yes, it finally happened. After 6 months (yes, 6 MONTHS!) of planning and arranging, the forum has finally moved onto a new (much faster) server.

I haven't yet finished optimizing the database settings yet, so there is still a bit to do, but for the most part, we're all done.

To keep things easier, if you can post any comments / bugs / whatever in the main thread in the LL - I can then quickly skip through and fix things.

My connection here is pants too, so I can't check speed so well - so any comments about that would be helpful too

Well spotted, I hadn't changed the character encoding for that.

I can confirm that the pound sign problem is fixed. However, found a much more important problem; the donations section doesn't work! Need to pay for that new server somehow. Will send another donation once that is up and running, FF has saved me a fortune over the years.

I've been getting blank emails from [email protected], perhaps meant to have been reply notifications. Perhaps related to the move?

@Dan - DOes the email have a title, or just totally blank?

I get the same behaviour as Dan, emails have no body and no subject.

Yep, no body or subject. Using gmail, same with the Android app and web browser interface.

I've rebuilt phrases, which might have been thrown out by the UTF8. Let me know if it happens again

Forum is considerably quicker, even at peaks times. Was starting to bug me, so it's very timely for me.

Classifieds emails fixed now, Gallery was coded differently so shouldn't have the same problem
