What did you do with the old 1108 engine?

Great project though. Can't wait to see more (better quality) video.

The original 21,000miles 1108cc MPI engine, Ecu and Abarth gearbox with its lower final drive than standard Cinq/Sei's is currently sitting on the garage floor, what we do with not sure, maybe use the MPi system for the turbo and make it a better, or sell it, not really thought about it TBH.

Yeah we will try and get some more vids this weekend as weather is due to be good.

So latest finishing touches have been done, i got hold of some Panda 100hp sports pedals on ebay. They aren't a direct fit, so have been customized to get them on. The accelerator pedal has been flattened and mounting plate was made to attach it to the original pedal. Bit complicated, but seemed the best way to do it at the time.

Also Aaron put black vinyl on the B pillar because it worked so well on my cinq. I think it looks ace :D

The dials have been finished off with some carbon fibre.

Absolutely great result i have been away from this site for a few weeks lately so have just been reading over the thread again and i think the end result is great, the engine bay looks spot on and almost special edition factory look

the 108 BHP result i will admit is not what i was expecting with them mods, roughly 115 was more what i was thinking but still it sounds impressive in general and more importantly i really could replace my arosa with something like this whereas i couldnt do so with a standard sei sporting

im wondering why you put the abarth wheels back on though? got bored of the mos already ;) i can give them a good home :)

more engine bay pics and moving videos (hosted on U tube if poss) please :)

Hey
The Abarth wheels are on because we haven't been able to get the Mo's to fit, they scrap the arches badly so want to get the arches rolled to see if that helps. If not will have to sell them and find something more suitable.

Thanks for your comments, I'm really happy with the overall look of the car, the aim was to make it look factory and i think it has worked out rather well!
The car had its first outing yesterday at Brooklands, and so many people thought it had come from Fiat like that!:slayer:

Hiya Aaron,

Surprised you've finished already to be honest! Very impressive.

Just to say the comment on the manifold cracking was because I have cracked 2 supersprints with heat wrap, its too much heat for 1.5mm thick mild steel and I have broken 4 in total, the other two from cracking due to flexing however you have already spotted this I see with the clamp onto the gearbox.

Very good workmanship btw, I'd be over the moon...!

Yeah Emma is very pleased with it.

We did read up about manifold cracking and that is why we took the decision to not wrap it all only the areas that we felt were close to the plastic rad fan assembly, in some places it is only about 25-35mm away.

I am sure the gearbox mount was either on the the engine when we got it as it still had the exhaust manifold attached or it came with the supersprint, though I can't remember which now, so it is a purpose made bracket.

thanks for the feedback though always welcome.
