Introduction
Here is the latest addition:
Hey Si. Re the ECU issues. I found this digiplex on ebay
http://www.ebay.it/itm/FIAT-REGATA-...Ricambi_automobili&hash=item338ac04dcd&_uhb=1
The Fiat group seemed to use the same box of tricks for all their motors at the time. Granted an identical 'looking' ecu could be a disaster but then all its really doing is advancing and retarding the ignition. The number on my digiplex unit is 410a and the ebay one is a 405a. Worth a flutter maybe.
There's some evidence on the Italian Y10 site that Turbo owners have used Delta, Croma etc digiplexes on their Turbos.
Hey man! Yeah I noticed a lot of variants of this ECU, nervous to try one but it could be a good idea to try it and see if it still has an issue. It just stops after running for a while so I don't need to risk the engine under load just need to find out if that is the component that is failing. I have a new coil on the way (I think it is fine but the resistance measurement seems a little higher than the stated amount in the workshop manual (6k+ ohmes instead of ~4k ohms).
So that might fix it. But the coil was new back in 2010 and it hasn't done crazy miles...
not sure what else it could be really...
Will probably buy one of those other digiplex units and try it, and maybe order myself a megajolt kit as an emergency back up plan...which I will have to learn about quickly as I am supposed to be at Wiscombe hillclimb next weekend
arg arg argh!!!![]()
If you pick up the postage i'll lend you mine. I'll put it in recorded mail, its not as if mines doing very much sitting on a shelf. I'm not gonna Turbo the Y10 this month. I take its your is the 410a version?
Well quick update...
1) I fitted new sensors and problem remained
2) Borrowed ECU arrived safely huge thanks to Kris Giacosa.
3) Fitted said ECU but engine still conked out...hmmm odd lol
4) Fitted new coil and same, car won't start or run....

It cool man, Glad some of my Turbo kits getting used instead of collecting dust. Got the pymnt by the way
Just a thought but what does the vacuum hose on the ECU connect to. Is it just there to tell the boost gauge what to read or does it acually do some vacuum advancing of the ignition. Either way it must have some odd setup inside.
Good luck![]()
