You're asking that and you own a ford Puma?![]()
Oh beeeehaveCourse we can, LOL.
Haha, yes the ford puma is a girl`s car , specifically a hairdresser`s car.![]()
Yes, apparently I hate 500's despite the fact I've purchased oneThen I can see why you ask. No the 500 isn't a girl's car, it's for anyone with an appreciation of good design and style... and 306maxi is buying one as well![]()
Yes, apparently I hate 500's despite the fact I've purchased oneStrange people here!!!!
Just want the next 8 weeks or so to fly by now....
I have the sneaking suspicion you are slowly becoming accepted here Maxi... don't go and spoil it now will you?![]()
Depends on your definition of slow, and what you expect from the car.
For me, I couldnt justify spending over £1,000 extra for higher road tax, higher insurance, less mpg. I only really drive around the city, which the 1.2 does fantastically. Definitely better than my 1.6 Focus. The 1.4 also has a bigger turning circle, which (arguably) makes the 1.2 better for city-style driving. However, trying to overtake on the motorway in the 1.2 when you're doing 60-70+ needs careful consideration as unless you're going downhill, theres not much room for acceleration.
All things considered, I dont miss my Focus. Except the heated windscreen![]()
Well it's meant to be 2.1s quicker to 60I'm hoping my 1.2 which all being well I pick up Saturday will go just as well as my 04 1.2 Panda it is replacing. The Panda with a load in will cruise all day on the motorway at an indicated 80mph (probably a true 75mph) and then zip up to 90 ( again probably only about 84mph according to sat nav ) for the odd bit of overtaking. I'm not expecting the 500 to be slower, after all it does have a whole 9 more horses.
Just a thought, but what spec you want for your 500? I thought if its nothing too wierd you could have maybe one from stock and manage to trade in your old car while you still have the MOT?

Have you not read this thread? If your dealer doesn't know anything about the scheme find another one who is willing to do a bit of legwork and sort it for you. If they can't be bothered to find out now then how bothered will they be if you have an issue with your car?I've still had no news from my dealer about scrappage so I contacted Fiat's live chat facility this morning and this is a transcript of the question and reply:
"Hello, I was wondering if the 500 is included in the scrappage scheme?
Sofia Rezgui: Fiat Head Office is currently evaluating the scrappage scheme in order to see which vehicles within the Fiat range are going to feature. The scheme does not come into force until May 18th, we will be fully informed prior to this date."
We shall see! As soon as anybody is successful in getting the allowance deducted from your new 500 please post all the details here.
