General Rusty Front Shock Absorber Screw Threads

I had this issue when I replaced my front shocks .. it was a nightmare!! Hopefully yours are not as rusty as mine were but my local garage had to use a blow torch to remove mine! The nuts were so rusty they had become one with the shaft [emoji23]

Also the middle of the shaft had lost the groves for the Allen key also due to rust if you find this with yours just go to your local garage [emoji23]

Thanks John, For your reply. My idea is to spray the nut with WD40 almost everyday for a week before trying to remove. And funny enough the problem is only on the right side. The left side is like new.

Once I remove the nut does the shock lose it position?

Not if the wheel is on the ground even if it does move it's not hard to 're position

It moves within this slot in normal use

Unlike previous set.ups where 3 small bolts would hold it in a fixed position
