The car is a 2001 Fiat Punto HGT, have no idea as to what its worth.

As you can see from the pictures below the car has slight cosmetic damage where someone crashed into it while it was parked on the road.

Engine wise the car runs, but has a slight coolant leak, (empties the tank in between 6-8 weeks). The main problem is the exhaust back box fell off and is currently in the boot!!

Front tires are relatively new, probably needs new rears.

Anything else i can add that would help, just ask!

it has an identity marker set on it from when insurance paid you out

with the cost of insurance road tax and all body repair needed its inherently scrap unless you want to sell some worthwhile bits off it possibly best on ebay

i did a lad an insurance quote today ,cheapest quote was £11300 he declined:eek:

They is only worth peanuts,
iseen one a short while ago, in almost mint condition,
it was advertised at under 500 notes,

id use the skirts/alloys etc off this to dress up abasic punto,
there is no real money in it as abreaker or to sell on as a whole so using it for its trimmings might be best bet, thats if your staying with Fiat that is,

I'm afraid that's worth next to nothing as a car, I hope upkeep wasn't sacrificed to pay for bling like that HID kit. Best bet may be to find someone building an Animoto that's feeling sufficiently unhinged to try a 130 BHP build. I have an '04 HGT and it's been properly looked after, but no-one wants such a large, naturally-aspirated engine in this style of car anymore, so I'd be lucky to break £1000 for mine. It's the reason even Renaultsport downsized and added forced induction. Going to keep mine running as long as possible before I have to succumb to the evils of turbos in the name of emissions.

Tbh, id love to buy one whilst there Cheap,

not many of them left now is there?

but price of road tax ..holds me back from wanting to go out and buy one,
maybe one day they will be a future classic and people will think back and wished theyd bought one, :D

To be fair, the road tax is insignificant compared to how much I spend on fuel. Not so bad now I'm doing motorway miles though, 40 MPG on average. Unfortunately, quite a lot of them have been abused, even mine burns a little oil on cylinder 4 where the previous owner has abused it somehow. I'll take 'full service history' with a pinch of salt from now on, I would much rather take one that has been serviced by an enthusiast with supporting receipts.

Thanks guys, it's pretty much as expected tbh! I'm almost tempted to put it on eBay with no reserve.

i wouldnt go mad tbh
Why?

The problems i see are

Roof rusting - not good
Headlights are sumwhat sunk in, either bad pannels or dodgey light fitting
The door damage - it affects the rear quater too
The alloys are kerb'd
Tyre are budgets by looks of the name "pace"
102k is quiet high, i'd wanna see a complete service history to be sorta half peaceful about it
Infact damage to the wings as well

If i brought it - i'd run it to the ground tbh.... then brake for spares :)

Tidy it up abit and advertise it,

why have you got fed up with this punto anyway, ?
it couid be made tidy with some time spent on it, :)

I think it would be more a labour of love than solid financial sense. But if you want to give it a go:

1. Treat the rust and paint it from a rattle can.
2. T-Cut those black marks off the door, it looks like whatever hit you came off worse.
3. Investigate the leak. Last time I had the car serviced the dopey gits had secured the lower radiator jubilee clip on the barb itself, not behind it.
4. If the exhaust back box fell off due to corrosion, plenty of good deals to be had online. I saved £360 doing my front catalytic converter myself compared to having it done at an exhaust specialist.

I wouldn't bother getting it back to a cosmetically perfect state, it's a tool to be used, not a show-queen.

Cheers,

Mick
