Roof rack? Kayak?

Hey, has any one ever carried a kayak on the roof rack?
Any tips, or pointers I should know?
I'm looking to buy two this weekend.

I've carried 2 kayaks on my fiat grande Punto. I would suggest getting 2 pairs of J bars from eBay or elsewhere, makes it easier and some heavy duty straps.

I have a tight budget ATM. You recon this will do for the time being? This is the one I'm looking at getting for the minute, Only will be carrying one at a time, But need to pick both up at the same time on Saturday.

They'll easily take the weight of a couple of kayaks.

Might be worth checking local Lidl stores for straps. They did have ratchet straps with 2 bungees for a fiver each. They're reasonably good quality and are strong enough.

I have genuine fiat roof bars which will easily take 2 kayaks.

This is how I carry mine. It is a lot easier with j bars though.
