Some people didn't get his fast paced energetic style of comedy but I for one loved his work and I'm very sad to hear he's died :( as a child of the 80's I grew up watching a lot of his stuff like Good morning Vietnam, Hook, and the brilliant and often over looked Bicentennial Man and of course mrs doubt fire (I actually went to the cinema to see that one lol).

They say it's suicide and that he suffered from depression which I know nothing about but it must be very hard to go though to get to that stage.

Did you like his work? What was your favourite robin Williams film?

I found him to be a bit hit and miss, i loved him in good morning vietnam and his stand-up was very funny but his manic nature could get a bit wearing when doing interviews etc.
All in all i think he was very talented and inventive and a genuine star unlike some of the no-marks that are revered as celebrities and its a sad loss but not entirely unexpected.

While fans around the world mourn the tragic death of Robin Williams, Fox News has come out and called the comic genius a â?ocowardâ? for his apparent suicide.

Fox News knows it is in the wrong after public outcry -- the right wing channel forced its anchor to apologize, but itâ?Ts not enough.

cant belive people still have no understanding of mental illness at all, he din't decide to hang himself the brain not working as it should gives him the idea. think of the brain in 2 half's one half decides you want to cross the road the other side tells you to stop and make sure its safe to cross the road, when there is a chemical imbalance the safe half will say cross the road too and you get run over.
with a mental illness all choice and rational thought goes out the window

Sorry but that's utter ******** !! There are some very high profile cases where people have been shown to be perfectly competent and clear of decision and decided to kill them self
http://journal.ics.ac.uk/pdf/1403211.pdf

Someone suffering from an Incurable cancer can make and informed decision because they are unable to accept there present situation and live with their disease and choose suicide as a way out.

Someone with a mental illness can be in exactly the same position and make the perfectly rational and logical decision to end their life based of the severity of there condition. Mental illness is not simply a 'chemical imbalance'

I really loved Robin Williams as an actor and comedian, some of his best roles were where he blurred the lines between comedy and drama, dead poets, good morning Vietnam, patch Adams all with humour but serious undertones, it seems his life was very similar to this in a lot of respects, and I feel the world will only be worse off without him

Loved him as an actor, but the guy really can't handle money, if you're still short after such a career :s

I loved his films....was a fan as a kid watching more and mindy. My favourite was a film called jack where he played the part of a ten yr old boy whose genetic condition aged him four times quicker. So he looked like a forty yr old.
His death like so many is a tragic sad loss. Rip.
