I'm trying out Michelin Alpins this year instead of my usual Continental WinterContacts. I ordered them a few weeks ago and they're sitting ready to go. I'll probably change over in the next week or so simply to collect and pay for them.

I brought my car with them on, i honestly hated them
They were seriously unbalanced rubber, even after been balanced
They didnt grip that well or help the car in anyway except been of a legal tread depth....
Im currently sat on Uniroyals MS plus 6's
But i might try something else when the time comes, to see what works and what doesn't
I do think any winte tyre is better then no winter tyre tho

well in my area im cruising at 10 max during day down to 6 / 7degree's at night
I think the winter tyres will be on very shortly

according to the forecast - its due to drop to about 4 in wee hours of the morning and slowly get back up to about 9 at about mid-day
I think thats next weeks plans for sure

ive different weather mine says its going to go up to 9
Same as Dave, weather is 5 hear at the moment 10 during the day but forecast to go up over the next few days
Think I'll put mine on this weekend, it's been no more than 10 degrees coming to or from work these past few days

came out of work and my car was covered in the early stages of frost/ice

I've just had to de-ice mine this morning. It was -1 at 7am
ice on my car but mrs dave say it still not cold enough to put central heating on

Thing is you have to get out in wet and cold to put them on.....
Ive put my winter tyres back on the other day when I did my gearbox as front wheels were already off

Tbf I've used them for many years now this is just a new set to fit a new car, they only go on when I'm actually stuck or I hit an uncleared road. I live on a bus route..so unless the gritters haven't been out at all or I decide I'm gonna park in the back street, they'll stay in the boot all winter.
I get the street to myself in winter usually, even the bloke on 4 winters doesn't like to risk it..I'm actually on the kerb, just the snow is deep enough for the car to look level.

anyone seen the weather in the US at the moment? 6 foot of snow in NY state, what way is the wind blowing we often get the tail end of their weather over here

this could be the year they are right, but the express say we will have the winter from hell every November
