connect the handbarke cable to the earth wire that goes to the back of your headunit. If you dont know which one it is, look in the manual for your stereo (or sometimes printed on top of the radio) - its usually, but not always, black.

Im not sure which one it is but the instructions to the Headunit should tell you to put one wire on the Handbreak Earth (or similar) So that is the wire in question.
Then you connect it to the black wire on the Headunit. You are best off attaching it to the Adaptor block which will be the middle of the 3. Then you are not cutting the car or the headunits wiring which can cause problems when changing the Headunit or putting the old one back in for sale. (Presuming that the Astra needs an adapter harness to fit the ISO on the HU to the cars wiring)

The easiest way to splice into the Black Earth for the HU is to use one of these.

so should i just get the parking cable from the back of the stereo and crimp it to the earth wire coming from the stereo, is that right?
