RIP PC David Rathband

The issue here is not respect. In fact there is no issue.

Just don't think there is any inspirational aspect to the story at all.

Right, so you've made your point as has everyone else. I think we can put this to bed now, if people wish to comment and pay respects then so be it, if not then don't bother looking / posting (y)

At the end of the day a man in this day in age felt that there was no other way out than to take his own life. With the amount of shrinks and meds out there he should've had help regardless of whether he was a cop or not.

And if this story, with it being so high profile, inspires one person out there to think twice about suicide and get professional help then it is indeed an inspirational story.

All I hope is that it does raise slight awareness for mental health issues.

Oh, I didn't realise we couldn't question opinions with legitimate argument. Apologies, her fuehrer.

Appears Godwins Law is true.

RIP PC Rathband.

I dont think any of us could imagine what he has been through. Going to work one day only to have your life changed forever.

Being shot twice at close range, and then to pretend to be dead to get moat to go away, this was a brave man.

I can only imagine that no matter how much counselling or medication you get is going to stop you reliving the terrible day over and over and over again in your mind.

suicide is a very strange thing, someone could seem happy as Larry one day then the next go and off themselves :( support is there but only if its asked for some people hide it. and also they need to have faith it it and in the whole human race. when your feeling suicidal thats a hard thing to do

meh

rip

it shouldn't of happened but thats the way things go :(
