Technical revs bouncing at idle

hi there this is just a minor problem but is a lilttle anoying. sometimes when i sit at a set of lights idling the revs will begin to bounce betwenn 500-1000 rpms it will keep doing this untill i pull away even if i dab accelerator it will stop for a second and then start again. any idea???/ or should just not worry ??
oh almost forgot

punto mk2 1.2 16v sporting with abarth head light protectors one broked thanx to a dam pheasent on way home tonight.

I suspect a stepper motor problem, but it only comes as a full throttle body

I've got the same problem.
Its only just started though, and Ive had to uncouple the ECU, so I am GUESSING the ECU memory has been wiped and its re-learning how to manage the engine.
But I'm probably living in cloud cuckoo land and I will have to get some new part or the other and cough up more dough.

Not on a mark 2 punto. It can only be wipe by dealers computers.

[}] had same prob wit my mk2 sporting, changed the spark plugs for some NGK's an the problem dissapeared! Magic.
