Hello everyone, I am
New to the forum, and I have seen countless posts regards the reversing light issues on Fiat Ducato motor homes, and am slightly stumped by my own predicament. Our Ducato had some issues with the rear light clusters when we got it earlier this year. It’s a 2005 registered edition, and I all but got them cured when I darned well went a popped a fuse on the reversing light while wriggling around underneath. It’s fitted with LED clusters for reverse, indicators, running lights and brake lights. Found the popped 5amp fuse, replaced….but cannot get the thing to worry now. I have put power directly to the reversing wire (white) to be sure it works, and am now beginning to think the reverse switch may have coincidentally given up as well. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
David

Hi David,

Welcome to the forum. The rear light clusters on you MH will be part of the conversion, and there should be a junction box connecting the Fiat and converters wiring. A 5A fuse does not fit with the original Fiat wiring for the reversing lights. Is it in the LH cab fusebox or elsewhere? Your 2005 registered MH will be a 244 model, (2002 - 2006) and that is more significant than the actual year of registration.
On the x244 Ducato the reversing lights are supplied via 10A fuse F31 in the LHS cab fusebox, perhaps the 5A fuse has been wired in series to more closely match the consumption of the LED clusters.
For a quick check if F31 has blown, heater fan and cigarette lighter sockets inoperable with ignition on. Also no electric demisting, but more difficult to check.

See my diagram (attached) which is slightly customised (notes 2, 3, & 4). Fuse F31 is at top LHS corner of fusebox.

Hi Communicator,
I I’ll check tomorrow, the 5 amp blown fuse was in the passenger side (rhd model), that would make sense if it’s as you say. I will let you know. Many thanks.
David
