General Retrofit LCD Instrument Cluster

General Retrofit LCD Instrument Cluster

Bumping this topic. In the description is writen that the mileage of the new cluster must be lower as you can only change it higher and lower is not possible. Is this a typical cluster issue or will the software not support mileage correction downwards?
Its by design, to stop people wiping off 20k when selling?

Hit the nail on the head. I know its kinda minor but I am very annoyed...
I believe that there are some functions of mes that are "hidden" and it does things you dont want it too!.
A while ago i did a proxy alignment after fitting some new parts, and only found out later that in doing so the system removed the function to turn the day running lights on and off via the speedo button menu i have never found any way to get it back!!- like you p***ed off about it!.

In the meantime we have learned that the layout (Sport, Lounge, Abarth) can be adjusted by changing byte 65 with MES.
00 : Lounge/Pop
20 : same as 00 but with slightly different font
40 : Sport. It has a turbo boost gauge instead of Eco
60 : Abarth

Yes I know that it is an old topic. My wifes 500 is also old ;-) it's an 2008 Lounge.
Does this
upgrade will work on a 2008 car with Blue & Me radio?
I tried to buy via ebay a cluster, but the guy told me that it would'nt work on a 2008 car with Blue & Me

There are also clusters from a Hybrid version for sale. Would that one be also suitable?

Sorry many questions and I can't realy figure out why my search function isn't working propper.

From what I can remember, there are 2 types of the TFT cluster, one that works with Blue & Me cars, and one that works with the facelift cars (from around 2016 and later)

update on our 2008 F500 lounge. I have retrofitted a cluster from 2020 car. Milleage was 0
I could update de milleage to the correct vallue, did body allignment and all functions now
Via the multi ecu scan I was able to adjust time and date. My wife doesn´t use the cluster info such as radio or phone, so she doesn´t miss it.
So I´m happy with the upgrade.

This post convinces me to a certain extent, that they are similar abeit probably upgraded/revised software versions.

Is the going price for a used one now about £200 asper most on eBay or
Does anyone now a cheaper source?

Also as there seems to be different codes for different models I presume you can use
one that came from an Abarth in a 500 Twinair?

Did you fit a post 2015 cluster?
If so those cars have the drl settings on the radio

if I new it I would have bought it and told anyone. I bought mine via the german ebay marketplace called Kleinanzeigen for 230 euro. it is a 2014 and up model

I think they are going up, but I managed to get an 2018 Abarth one for £190 using the Ebay filter.

If this @decappottabile post works then I should be able to change byte 65 to '00' for a Lounge.
This is a gamble, but I'm willing to take it.

Fitted mine today 🥳🥳

It went from this... (I had to reconnect the battery to get a photo of the mileage, hence the clock was skew wiffy.)

I set to byte 65 to 40 for now, and will check it out for the next couple of days, then try the others, to see the pros & cons.

It did seem to nobble a few miles when I set the mileage, I can live with that.
