Before I forget homeward there was a bit of oil where you were parked when you left. It was very clean so may have been a bit that missed the filler. May be worth checking.

Ta! I've just discovered a similar splat on the drive: looks like the three drops I had at the NEC have turned into a bit of a leak. Shall have to go and apologize to Fred, whose barn she was stored in....

I also photographed the gorgeous red Uno. Do you know (geddit) whose it is?

Yes it's Jeremy - the chap needing the insurance valuation you pointed at me last week - forget his FF name offhand - I can easily find it, but am a bit too dozy to bother at this moment...... (y)

Where are all the Freddie photos? You lot can't have missed him in that colour!! ;)

The immaculate one? Yea spoke to the chap. He's having issues getting an agreed valuation. They will only value it at £800-1200!! If I could get an Uno Turbo for that price with the amount of miles on the clock that had I'd buy it without thinking!

Of course: he did say he was going to be there...!

Fear ye not! There are a few 127 photos in my stash! Was more interested in the Pandas, though...! ;)

We arrived home at about 7.30pm then promptly fell asleep during Jonny English.

Had a really good day at the Pod though, even Panda Mo warmed to it eventually.
Thanks to all who made it for being great company, and extra thanks to Gavin for organising the day :slayer:

Great pics Homeward (y), hardly worth showing mine, but I will have a look and see if there are any worth posting.

We were all discussing the possibility of taking the Pandas down the strip, I think everyone volunteered to take Panto, apart from Barbara. After driving him 109 miles at motorway speeds it took her a good hour to re-orientate herself to the quiet environment of the pod. :p In the end no-one tried the quarter mile, but looking at the times of the other cars I would guess Panto to be a 16 second-ish car with a finishing speed of around 80mph. I would love to take a Panda down the strip one day but will wait till I have something faster than Panto, wouldn't want the drag racing community to think Pandas are slow. ;)

Maybe Gavin will let me have a go next weekend around Castle Combe, I'm more comfortable with straights AND corners. :worship:

I'm quite tempted to go down next time myself. Fancy seeing what a 1l 45hp can do :D

I think if we'd used a standard Panda we would have needed our headlights on by the finish. :p

I always wanted to take a 4x4 down (maybe against a 750). I think there's too much pressure with a supposedly decent car. A lumbering 4x4 would make a right racket going nowhere particularly fast & no one would expect a fast time! You'd also get your money's worth.........

My Sisley would go growl, growwwl (2nd), CRUNCH roar (3rd), crunch (4th not as bad & only if rushed) rooaaarrrrr - not sure there's room for 5th or getting up to 60 come to that, but you'd still get the sound of impending mechanical Armageddon if revved properly through the lower gears. Don't get me wrong, it's quite capable of hitting over 80, just need a 3 mile run at it. ;)

Apart from the fact that she'd (currently) stall on the starting line, I'm actually quite shocked by how well Betty accelerates (and is quite relaxed at 70 mph -- especially compared to Pippin, of course...). She also hasn't yet developed the third-gear crunch that even Pippin (who is younger, and has a couple of thousand less miles on the clock) has; and the clutch is now beginning to loosen up very nicely...! (y)

If you could find a Selecta with a decent clutch, though (and I'm starting to think that changing the powder only, and then the brushes, would be the way forward with Hal...), then that massive(!) 1108cc engine (50hp, remember...!) -- injected, as well, of course; and with the assisted brakes you'd obviously need after you'd crossed the finishing line... -- might surprise a few people...! :nutter:

20 seconds; finishing speed of 85 mph; reaction time of half-an-hour....

Happy now...?! :p

Seems that the swooper flags worked well, you guys had some great weather for the whole event.

They did! Thank you for getting up early to provide them...! :worship:

I love Santa Pod, especially on the Flame and Thunder weekend with the kids :D

Yes we had a great day. Hopefully the full pictures will be posted up when our photographer sorts himself out! ;)

Thanks for sorting the flags & also for delaying Bob so that homeward was first to arrive & I was second!!

This was one of only a couple I took & near the end, but you can see one of the flags quite well - also managed to cunningly get both my cars in shot... Apart from that it's pretty rubbish as it's too dark as can be seen by the 127 not blinding you.

Are you BBQ'ing next Sunday? (y)

lovely photos they all look mint, the valuation on the turbo is a joke of course but mainly i wants that 132 in black, it even has my initials on the plate:D
hope its a 2.0 litre twinky:) manual

It's a 132 Bellini with a 2.0 litre - think it's auto though. Good job you won't want it now, as I doubt you'd prise it away from the owner without clubbing him to death! (y)

Mine! :) I thoroughly enjoyed taking my Uno to her first show and all the praise/compliments that I got. And the £10k offer I got from one chap  Nice to meet friendly people from FF too, and kudos to Palio for taking time out of his day to assist with the valuation of my car. Hope to see you all at Standford Hall :)
