Hi all,

Our car is a 2007 Panda 1.2 petrol, Dualogic. I bought it aware it needs some work, but I loved to drive it, it fits perfectly in the space left in our garage (used up by a SUV...) and the price was good.

Does anyone have experience replacing ALL engine mountings? Are they only three, or I should look for more parts? Like bushings, other rubber bases? I want to take advantage that the mechanic will disassemble that area.

We have checked the suspension and the steering, and they are fine.

I have ordered the front, the lower left, and the rear (stabilizer), images attached. (the forum did not allow me to include the ebay URLs....)

The story is that Pandas are not common here. Our mechanic is really good, reliable, but knows near to nothing about Fiats. He says "the engine is loose, if you buy the 3 mountings I can replace them".

Oh, and I have already bought a LuK RepSet (clutch repair kit), as it stutters (vibrates) when, for example, in heavy traffic, we are almost stopping in 2nd gear and accelerate again.

I will appreciate any help.
Carlos from Mexico.

Just done the rear mounting (your third picture). Fairly easy, but the exhaust gets in the way. No need to support the engine, car on ramps, exhaust split to allow more movement and it just unbolts.

The first picture is the mounting on the left when facing the car. It needs to be removed when changing the cambelt. Not touched it for about 5 years (that reminds me, my belts are due replacement), but not difficult. Support engine (block of wood and Jack under sump) unbolt and replace. I think. Never touched the right mounting so can't help.

Advice from memory. Follow at your own risk etc.

I have removed and refitted the first one when I changed my timing belt a couple of years ago. It was very easy - you won't have any problems.

I removed and refitted the other two when I had the gearbox out for a clutch change recently. They were also easy but I recall a bit of faffing around trying to get the big bolt back in for the dog-bone shaped one due to something being in the way, possibly the exhaust mounting bracket.

Just take your time, use good fitting sockets and/or ring spanners, torque the nuts and bolts up properly and look after your knuckles.

If it like the one on my 500 1.3
The front bolt for the mount hit the exhaust before you can remove it fully

You should be able to unscrew it enough to get the mount out however

there's a part on the exhaust you can remove (2 bolts i think) and then the dog-bone (3rd picture) mount bolts are easy to work on.

Wow, thanks a lot!! I could not open the link before, thought it was broken. Those diagrams are really helpful.

bolt 11 is a nuisance. Exhaust is in the way. Will not come far enough out so you can drop the mount out.

ePER is a pain. If you keep hitting refresh you normally get there

The mount is obviously on the car before the exhaust is fitted with the 1248mj.. my grandes are all like this (posted pics 3 years ago)

You might be lucky and find the FIRE is different..

After 15 years our 169 FIRE was still as it left Poland in that respect..
So cannot say its layout

Unfortunately not

I have just take the gearbox off. Not a problem as I could loosen the bolt and remover it with the box. But the bolt doesn't pass the the exhaust and there isn't quite enough room to move it out of the way and drop the mount down

Even with some force.
