Replacement handbrake handle and gaitor

Has n e 1 on here replaced there handbrake handle and gaitor? If so how the bloody hell do you get the standard one off.Does it just pull off in ya hand(wa hay!) or is it more complexed than that.
Any help much appreciated

Had mine off on a 1.4SX brava P reg.

It was some time ago, as far as I recall it was a very fidley but dont think there were any specific actions required.

One other thing to note, When replacing the cables I couldnt get the new front/rear cables to meet in the middle. about .5inch short. Apparently there are two versions of hand break. My supplier supplied front/rear cables for diff versions.
I think their is a hand brake with intergral front cable and handbrake with seperate front end cable.

you need to cut it along the top. i used the molding line as a guide. also the only replacments i found were from MoMo, at about £50.
