General Replace or leave alone?

Both my 4x4 gearboxes are noisy, but I've never heard one from new to compare them with.

Sprox had a low milage 4x4 that was very quiet in comparison and had a much more solid and precise feel. Unfortunately I obviously don't have anyone to recommend.

Well these halfwitts have still not finished the repairs so legal procedings were instigated this morning. I was going to just collect willie today until advised not to by the solicitor and Consumer advice dept. We don't have any of these type of dealings in our job until it turns nasty and even then have nothing to do with the civil law side of it.

After going through all the legal points there are a few matters that may be of interest that may help people in simmilar circumstances in the future.

I won't air them now but if anyone is in the same position please PM or e-mail and I'll tell you what you need to do.

Give em stick Alan. There is far too much of this sort of thing going on and all too often, they get away with it.

Tis my full intention Pete, I intend to have the gearbox and car fully examined when I get it back and if anything is untoward will have no hesitation in taking them to court.
