My Fiat500C Semi-Automatic 2015 is still showing P1760 brake switch circuit fault code.

I bought The brake switch 46840510 on Amazon asked my local garage replace it. However, it still showing the transmission Error ( computer shows P1760 brake switch code) .

Garage charge labor cost £54.00 for it but the problem still there. The garage said my part is not original cause the problem.

Shall I just ignore the code?

Thank you!

Personally I’d have bought a second hand one from a breakers on ebay like from club500italia then you know it’s a genuine part

Have you cleared the code first? Then tried the switch?

P1760 code showed as attached. I think press pedal up to check is a good idea. Thank you!

Since a garage put the part in, they probably did it right, but IIRC you have to lift the pedal, pull out the white part of the switch and then gently let the pedal push in the switch to calibrate it.

Thank you, will do.

Why do you think it's a faulty brake switch? Did you ask the garage to hand out the old one so you can check it with an ohmmeter?

Hi,
Thanks for helping me solving the problem. The problem solved at the end. I bought the original break switch from Fiat authority store. Once put it on , all computer code disappeared.( this is my third break switch I bought)

1. First one from Amazon, cost me £9.99. Doesn’t work.
2. Second one from Ebay, cost me £21.99( the seller said, it is a original one made in Poland) doesn’t work.
3. Third one from Fiat store. £35.00 Working.

You have to get the Genuine car parts sometimes. It’s very easy to install.( Need two person to do it, check YouTube how to do it)

Sometimes it pays to buy genuine, Our Mazda issue cost £300 to fix due to not buying genuine, years ago my Honda lost all its oil after a non genuine oil filter had a shard of metal in it fly round the engine breaking a oil seal dumping all the oil into the cam belt cover a few miles after changing the oil always bought a genuine Honda filter after that
